Halleujah

Today X-Factor winner Alexandra'a version of Leonard Cohen's Halleujah became the fastest selling single ever. Whilst she does do a pretty good job with it, I think its worth reminding ourselves of the definitive version, courtesy of Jeff Buckley. Amazing.

Nope, gotta be the original Leonard for me :)

Fair enough! Much kudos to him for writing it in the first place, although I've gotta say I heard it on the radio yesterday and it did sound a little dated! Maybe I'm just biased cause the first version I heard was Jeff Buckley's.

Whereas the first I heard was Cohen's. I love Leonard Cohen's voice, although he seems to be an acquired taste that most don't acquire! I like Buckley's second best though :D

its not so much the voice I take issue with, but the hideous 80s production and nasty keyboard! Nevertheless I am tempted to find Leonard's greatest hits at the library and have a listen!
